Both the seat belt insert and ISOFIX attachment were tested against the C.A.S.E. methodology.

For secondary testing, the Bark Belt is strength tested by our manufacturer with forces similar to those used in human seat belt testing.

The hardware and locking mechanisms of each belt variation are the same across both sizes, which means the Bark Belt sizes are based on dog height and belt length, not dog weight.

The Bark Belt comes in two sizes - Medium (32 inches or about 81 cm) and Large (40 inches or about 102 cm).

The max tested weight for the bark belt is 75lbs. The accident simulated a violent head-on collision, which is a very uncommon accident (less than 2% of total accidents in 2021).

That said, we believe that a bark belt will provide a level of protection above nothing if you're dog is currently unrestrained, regardless of size.

Please keep in mind, this statement is based on our opinion and does not represent any testing from a third party. This assumption is based on a less violent collision produces less energy than a violent one, therefore a larger dog would experience less force in a less-violent collision.

YES. The Bark Belt must be attached to the back side of a dog harness. Please do not attach the bark belt to any other area of the harness besides the back.

Bark Belt is developing their own crash tested harness, that should be announced soon. In the meantime, we recommend using a crash tested harness from a reputable brand. Their harness design is compatible with the Bark Belt.

We cannot guarantee the Bark Belt will work with all car models, but the two systems we have in place are compatible with most vehicles. If you purchase the Bark Belt and it does not work with your vehicle, please contact us for a refund and to see if we can make a special order.

We recommend starting positive reinforcement training with your dog ASAP. Specifically this training should be centered around getting your dog comfortable with their harness and wearing it. Here is a video we recommend to help with this training

An unrestrained dog can be highly distracting for a car driver. According to a study by AAA, up to 30% of dog parents have reported being distracted by their dog while driving. In some cases your insurance company might even void your claim if your dog is unrestrained.

Once your order is placed, you will receive a confirmation email letting you know that our fulfillment team has received your order. Once your order is fulfilled, you will receive an email notification with your tracking information. Shipping fees are non-refundable in the case of returns.

We’ll accept return requests for items that are unused. The product(s) must be in their original packaging, if applicable, in the same condition it was received. If you wish to return your item, we must receive your request within 15 calendar days of the date you received your item.

Once we receive your returned item, our team will review your request and inspect the item. We will send you an email to confirm that we’ve received your item and are processing your request.
