How has Bark Belt been tested?

Bark Belt goes through crash testing for safety and factory bench testing for strength, consistency, and durability. Independent facilities use instrumented canine dummies to measure forces during sudden stops and frontal-impact scenarios.

What is the weight rating?

Bark Belts are built to mimic the standards required for human bus seat belts. They are load tested to 13kN (nearly 3,000 pounds of force).

We provide a kN rating instead of a pure "weight limit" because vehicle safety is measured in force, not body weight. A 50LB dog in a head-on collision produces significantly more force than a 50LB dog in a minor accident. A single weight number would not accurately reflect how the system performs in real driving conditions.
