- Every Bark Belt goes through two layers of evaluation: crash testing for safety and bench testing at the factory to confirm strength, consistency, and durability.
- We worked with independent crash-testing facilities using instrumented canine test dummies to measure real forces during sudden stops and frontal-impact scenarios. Frontal deceleration is the most common and most severe real-world impact pattern, which is why it is a primary focus in automotive safety testing.
- Each component is also tested on its own. The seat belt webbing, stitching, metal hardware, and locking mechanism are all verified against strict strength requirements so the system performs reliably under load.

- Bark Belts are built to mimic the standards required for human bus seat belts. They are load tested to 13kN (nearly 3,000 pounds of force).
- We provide a kN rating instead of a pure "weight limit" because vehicle safety is measured in force, not body weight. A 50LB dog in a head-on collision produces significantly more force than a 50LB dog in a minor accident. A single weight number would not accurately reflect how the system performs in real driving conditions.
